Vacation Care
VAC CARE Dates
Vacation care is held during every school holidays, except in July when it is only the first week of holidays, and the two weeks prior to the start of term 1 each year. It is also held on Staff Development Days (SDD), which are determined by the Dept of Education. Our operating hours are 8am-6pm. Children are expected to bring their own recess, snacks and lunch, unless it is provided as part of a programmed activity. Fruit and veg snack in the afternoon will be provided. Please do not send any nuts or nut products eg health bars.
Hats, water bottles and lunch are essential every day. Closed in shoes are preferred for safety reasons.
Carefully note excursion times on the program and arrive at least 20 mins before that time to enable a briefing to the children, toileting and organisation into groups. If you are running late, please ring us on 0429 547 265 as we may be able to wait if we know you are not far away.
Remember to ring/ mark absent as early as possible if your child is not coming. We sometimes have a waitlist and if we can replace your child, you will not be charged.

How to book vacation care
STEP 1
Opening and closing dates (and the program) for the upcoming vacation care booking period are published on the website noticeboard and parents are notified via email.
STEP 2
Access the booking calendar via the Xplor Home App. For each child you wish to make a booking for - select the day, select ‘‘anytime” and write in the comments section “vacation care”. We will know you are booking for Vacation Care anyway because of the dates you have selected. When making a booking, do not forget the last step of going to the little basket in the top right of your screen and confirming. We will then go in and confirm your booking or reject it (if we have hit capacity for that day) in the case that we have hit capacity and have to reject your booking, your child/ren will be put on a waitlist and we will inform you of this and what number they are on the waitlist.
Ensure you book/cancel bookings in the indicated time frame. Cancellations made after the booking closing date may incur charges up to the full fee for the booked session.
You can find further help on how to make a booking/cancel a booking on the “FAQ Xplor Home” tab.
STEP 3
Make sure your childcare subsidy and payment details are up to date. If you CCS enrolment has ceased (cessation is automatic after 13 weeks non-attendance), please notify the service prior to the vacation care period to ensure subsidies apply for vacation care attendances.
Booking Timeline
The Vacation care program is made available in time for bookings to open in Week 6 or 7 of any 10 week term. You will be notified via email when the program is released and when bookings commence. NNPS students have preference for bookings in the designated booking period. However if places remain after the booking period has closed, places may be offered to non NNPS students on a first in first served basis.
Bookings can still be made, if space is available, after the booking period has ended. To make a last minute booking you must contact the service directly (via email) .
Vacation Care bookings will be made via the 'Xplor Home’ App. New users may wish to take a look at the Xplor Home tutorials for assistance.
